Pain Knowledge Survey

Pain matters to occupational therapists.

Pain matters to occupational therapists because one in five Canadian adults and children will suffer from significant pain at some point in their lives, older adults' pain tolerance decreases with age, and one in every two persons with depression report suffering from pain .

Please help us to identify pain knowledge gaps that the profession should address. Improved pain knowledge ultimately helps all of our clients, regardless of their age or condition. Your input is important to help us determine what specific pain education occupational therapists need to improve their knowledge about pain management for all clients.

Please participate in the national survey of occupational therapists' pain knowledge. The survey is being conducted by Angelica Reyes and Cary Brown from the Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Alberta, Lisa Klinger from the Department of Occupational Therapy, University of Western Ontario and Kelly McIlroy, a private practice occupational therapist in Alberta. Participation involves online completion of a survey that will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.

To thank you for your participation you can also enter a draw to receive a $75 CAOT gift voucher upon completion of the study, as well as to receive a copy of the final report once the study is completed.

You can help advance practice
in the important area of pain management.
